Well when my website got updated I had great intentions that I was going to blog reguraly but unfortunately I have been very busy and keep it on the long finger. When I was in primary school our teacher always got us to write a composition called ‘the news’ where we would spill out on paper all the happenings of our lives-So here goes!
Well since I was last speaking to you I catered a fantastic dinner party in the main dining room of Kilkenny Castle with Kilkenny Design Centre on the night of the Kilkenny Team’s Homecoming. It was a fantastic night in a fantastic venue.
Recently my friend Olivia and I were working at the National Ploughing Championships in Athy with Boyne Valley Foods. We did four cookery demonstrations a day with their homecook and lakeshore products and a wonderful time was had by all. When we arrived at the ploughing match i wondered how we were going to get all the food and equipment from the car to our marquee but once we arrived in the car park a courtesy car collected us and we were dropped at the door. We hosted huge crowds over the week and it was bed early every night. We made gorgeous chocolate chip muffins, spicy chicken fajitas, homemade burgers, Lemon & ginger fish parcels, oriental steak, homemade marmalade, lemon & poppy seed cake and oatmeal flapjacks.. Yum!
Last Friday night we had the launch of the Savour Kilkenny Programme which was great and then on Saturday Miriam Donoghue of MD Media and her team organised a ‘chef mob’ photocall. What’s a chef mob I hear you ask-well basicially (As we found out on Saturday) it is a gathering of chefs for a photograph. The image above is of myself and my good friend Anne Neary preparing for the photoshoot. Anne has her book launch this Friday night in the Set Theatre in Langtons so it’s all systems go for that! We had a great turnout at the chef mob and it spilled rain so by the end of it we were left with wet chefs!
In the middle of all this activity I spent my summer competing in a charity talent competition (which I must tell you-without bragging!!!-I WON) but I will give you the full details of that in another post.
